Celebrating 10 Years of Impact and
Welcoming a New Chapter at Age Safe America
To all our students, clients, partners, and friends—thank you.
This year, Age Safe® America proudly celebrates its 10 year anniversary, marking a decade of impact. Since 2015, we have served as a national membership, training, advocacy, and services organization dedicated to enhancing the safety, security, and independence of older adults around the world. Our signature Senior Home Safety Specialist® certification has become a respected credential in the aging-in-place industry, equipping professionals with the skills to perform home safety assessments, identify slip, trip, and fall hazards, and support families with greater peace of mind.
The message and impact of aging safely at home is both a national priority and a global challenge—and over the past decade, we’ve had the privilege of supporting thousands of senior safety professionals, caregivers, and organizations committed to this mission.
Honoring the Journey
Over these 10 years, we’ve touched countless lives—and we haven’t done it alone. We’d like to thank our extended team, advisory board, and mentors who have supported us from the very beginning. A heartfelt shout-out to Robert G., whose introduction brought co-founders Steven Bailey and Fritzi Gros-Daillon together. Gratitude also goes to Dr. Kristopher Rench, OTD, our professional OT consultant, to Doug Janson, our SCORE mentor, and the many creative partners, attorneys, designers, and copywriters who contributed to our success.
We also want to recognize the passionate professionals, associations, students, and collaborators who have placed their trust in our mission over the years. Your belief in Age Safe America has helped shape a movement.
A New Chapter: Welcoming New Leadership
As we look to the future, we are thrilled to announce a major milestone: Daniel “Dan” Davenport has joined Age Safe America as our new CEO.
Dan brings a wealth of leadership experience as a successful founder, entrepreneur, and former Global Fortune 500 divisional CEO. He co-founded and built RiseSmart into a leading career transition and coaching company before its acquisition by Randstad, a Global Fortune 500 leader in HR services, where he continued to scale the business into a global leader serving clients across 90+ countries. Most recently, his personal connection to aging-in-place began with his own parents’ journey navigating safety and independence at home, which inspired him to launch Sprye, an innovative senior support company combining personalized concierge services with technology to help older adults with independence and longevity.
“My interest in the aging-in-place space began with my own family. Watching my aging parents navigate the challenges of staying safe and independent at home showed me how much support families truly need. That experience led me to start Sprye, and through that work I came to understand how essential home safety—and especially fall prevention—is to aging well. When I met Steven and Fritzi and learned about what they had built with Age Safe America, I immediately recognized the depth and quality of their work. I’m honored to help lead Age Safe America into its next chapter.” — Dan Davenport, CEO
Work has already begun updating our website, launching new automations, and introducing the all-new Age Safe® Directory — a powerful online resource connecting families with vetted aging-in-place service providers.
“I am very proud of all we have accomplished over the last 10 years. For a founder, entrusting your work and mission to capable hands is a fundamental desire, representing the ultimate success and a lasting legacy of your efforts. We could not be more proud to introduce Dan Davenport as the new CEO, and I’m excited to continue to be a part of the team to drive Age Safe® into its next chapter; expanding our reach, deepening impact, and staying true to the mission and global vision.” — Steven Bailey, Founder/Managing Director
“As co-founder of Age Safe® America, I am excited to continue supporting the company’s mission and contributing to its growth under new leadership. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to build strong and meaningful relationships with industry professionals, national associations, and countless dedicated individuals who are passionate about aging in place and senior safety. I look forward to continuing these collaborations and expanding our collective impact in this important field.” — Fritzi Gros-Daillon, Co-Founder and Director of Education
